**UTILITY** FL Mod Manager v1.2 (and some mods)

Here you can find news, get help and comment about the ?Freelancer Mod Manager (FLMM)? for activating/deactivating Mods for Freelancer

Post Sun Mar 16, 2003 4:03 am

All fixed now; re-download the installer. I hate those pesky dll dependencies My adding the zip decompression added a dll file that needed that particular file.

I've run short of time for tonight, so I'll try to convert some mods tomorrow. In the meantime, you guys can make your own auto-installing mods

I don't want to replace lines, just add new ones to the end of a section

Post Sun Mar 16, 2003 2:38 pm

Look at the included mods, guys! Those mods mostly append (add lines at the end) to files, but they also do search-replace and copyfile.

Post Sun Mar 16, 2003 8:48 pm

I have looked at the example mods (several times), and they don't do what I want to do. I want to append data to all sections named [BaseGood without replacing any of the old data. The methods I've seen are "append", "copyfile" and "sectionreplace". What I'm lloking for is something like "sectionappend". Is there such a method?

Post Sun Mar 16, 2003 9:45 pm

Thanks, yes, I'll add that method
Right now I'm in the middle of adding multiple mod activation, so it might be a few days before the next version comes out.

For the meantime, you could do a sectionreplace, with the section tag as BaseGood and the Dest tag as the last line in the basegood section. Then, just put that last line and the lines you want to append into the source tag.

FL Mod Manager v0.5 BETA is now complete!

Post Mon Mar 17, 2003 12:30 am

Everything works!

Hmm, that seemed like a good idea, but unfortunately it didn't work. It still puts the lines at the very end of the market_misc.ini file (which I suppose makes them appear in some base far away from Manhattan)

Of course

Chaldan, e-mail me your script file at: [email protected], and I'll figure it out for you

Your mod installer did not come with a uninstaller. I really do not like it when I read that this software was including a uninstaller and then find out there is no uninstall for it. It really messes up my XP system. Now will have to hunt and peck through my registry to delete everything related to your mod installer.

Oh btw I tried to run the game with NoStoryMod and Realistic Battleship Mod activated and it did not even work.

Post Tue Mar 18, 2003 4:05 pm

It says in the todo list: make uninstaller

The only changes it does to the registry are the following:
-HKCR/.flmod key (*.flmod file assoc.)
-HKCR/flmodmanager.1 key (*.flmod file assoc.)
-HKLC/software/flmod manager key (to know which mods are installed)

Give me an e-mail detailing all your problems (the more specifics, the better); you're the first person I've heard of who's had any problems. I've taken extra efforts to make sure problems are avoided. It's nothing to do with XP, either, because my dev machine is XP Pro

Hello to all, especially to you IGX89.

Your mod installer was ... is an ingenious idea. I regret to inform you that i have windows 98 on my computer. Even after d/l the .NET framework and installing it, i still get oleacc.dll errors upion startup of your program. It won't even start up. Could you help me on this?

Much thanks, i want to get those ships working.

I find your lack of faith disturbing...........

*thunk*

Hmm, oleacc.dll errors should only happen on Windows 95, not 98. Is it Win98 SE, or just the first edition? I have a computer running Win98 SE, and it works fine on it. That dll file is related to Active Accessibility, so try looking on WindowsUpdate to see if there are any updates related to that.

Oh, and my program doesn't need the .NET framework for anything. I try to keep dependencies to a minimum. That's why I love C++ . The only reason why the exe and dll files installed are >50kb is because I have included MFC 7 IN each file, so the user doesn't need to download a 1mb mfc7 dll if they don't have it.
