Exclusive new screenshots from Ascaron Entertainment's Darkstar One...

The Dense Field and Mining Station screenshots display an active asteroid field. All asteroids and meteorites in the field are actual objects which you can crash into, with fully implemented collision detection. The examples here are shrouded in a subtle mist, which has a genuine effect on lighting and visibility.

Darkstar One encounters a Mortok Cruiser inside an asteroid field which immediately begins to pursue the ship in the Mortok Pursuit screenshot.

Not every star system has one star lingering in the distance. In the Binary Star System screenshot this binary system has two stars and is one of many found in the Darkstar Universe.

In the Hellfire Effect screenshot an unfortunate victim of the Hellfire Mk2 missile disintegrates in the distance. The ensuing shockwave causes a sub-space ripple effect that distorts the planet in the background. This happens in real-time!

A bit "foggy" though, but very pretty indeed

I could be mistaken, but that mining station seems kinda inspired by Freelancer. Good job

These shots show excellent potential. I haven't purchased a new game in quite some time, but this'll be on my list when it arrives in the US. Decidedly similar to Freelancer IMHO, but I'm not going to complain ;-). Is the bluriness due to the rendering process, or is this how the game is going to appear?

That is due to the rendering process. The game itself is actually crystal clear...

Unless you find yourself in an asteroid field. Vision is reduced and the HDR filter really begins to show what it can do

yes, im curious as to what the system recuirments are, not sure my puter will handle it, itll handle FL maxed out, but otherwise....

The system requirements are pretty standard. Min 1.5Ghz CPU with a 128Mb GFX card (For gamers pretty standard these days).

To go for the full lust, a 3GHz with 1Gb Ram is recommended. You need roughly 4-6 Gb HDD space (Thats including a viable swap file).

That's good news. In the demo I'm always crashing into unseen meterorites and there is no autopilot either.
