Chips - How long until 1.28 Evolutions?

I want to shoot those Ruskies (and also read their history on the Info cards... a bunch of eastern block defectors to the Western Alliance in days gone by, perhaps?).

I also want my hard earned Nomad weapons with zero energy to return (as you previously mentioned that they would).

lol - its on its way slowly but surely. trust me, hard earned will be a true statement from now on, as will anything to do with the increased difficulty missions

Their is actually a 'history handbook' about the house and also about another new faction or two as well .

The handbook is free, comes with mod/download seperate or just read from website once done

Also - there are ALOT of new things for this one, and there might have to be "instructions" on how to do things with it.

Hey Chips, your new stuff looks good but for 1.29 PLEASE do some texturing to the new ships and some things like the Slipstream. THEY LOOK HORRIBLE.

i just downloaded ur mod this weekend and played it online and began with sp again... i liked ur mod... especial the 2nd have a little funny info-card...

i founded the 2nd handed thruster, but the normal thruster sell price is the buy-price off the 2nd handed, i think this is a little odd... co'z if they buy a 2nd handed ship, they will remove the 2nd handed thruster and mount the other older thruster they used... so i think that otherwhise the other thrusters are just cheap or the 2nd handed thruster is to expenive.

the first ship in sp is maybe a little to powerfull for the missions in the begin, they still couldnt break throught the class 4 graviton shield... ok, i admid that the missions are harder, but not the story-missions itself... i hope that u maybe will change this ship back to the dear beloved starflier with maybe better weaps then the normal game (or did u tested this also???)

Actually - the second hand Thruster can almost burn indefinately.


However, textures and skins for ships

They have overgone a change.

Panther has redone the ones from Firebase
The Bretonian Grenadier has been replaced by a whole new model (see forum here for pic of it in 1.28 spoilers).
Ronin has been replaced by the Fury - totally different model
Testudo has new model, and skin is identical to corsair
Basiclaly - they are ALOT better

Some looked alot better but the Romanov ships and slipstream look meh

Actually chips I believe you should leave the Nomad weapons right were they are. The power usage is already comprable to the other level 10 weapons and good God I just got a Nomad weapon that does almost 4000 points of hull damage a second and 2000 shield for only 600 energy total, that's 300 energy a shot at 2 shot's per second. What a weapon! If you take away or significantly reduce the energy requirements for the nomad weaponry then all were going to have in the evolutions universe are a bunch of folks running around with there fingers on the trigger 24/7. If they have to worry about energy drain they have to: plan, think ahead, use a little skill. Low energy nomad weapons will unbalance the near perfect balance you've achieved with your evolutions mod. The way you've done the thrusters is a perfect example. Thrusters and thruster usage is what seperates the men from the boys in combat. And the way you've tweaked the thruster speeds and drain requires us to become better pilots in order to survive. Having nomad weaponry without and energy drain is like having thrusters that I don't have to think about, it's pedal to the metal baby! And damn, the Torpedos!

If you've already decided that your bringing back the days of the Purple Rain then at least require some sort of conversion pack that makes it so you can't use the Nomad weapons at all until you get the energy converter. After all I can't just plug in the alien toaster into my wall outlet....can I? May even make incremental conversion packs that become more efficient sort of like your armor packs or Powerplant upgrades. Might even make it so you have to have a certain powerplant....Ok, I'm starting to get carried away. In anycase I'm sure I'll be pleased in a big way with whatever you have planned for us. I just hope you seriously concider what I'm saying here. The balance of the game can be marred in a big way. As it is..I've a slipstream and loaded a disrupter a gendaito/ a cannonball and three nomad lasers, and destroyed a lvl 19 VHF xeno Eagle in one pass today, One Pass! It took all my energy, as well it should if you ask me.

I know plenty of people who wont use Evolutions because what has been done to the Nomad weapons at present. I think that returning the Nomad weapons to their original values is the way to go, or else what's the point of going Nomad hunting? The flip side of your 'purple rain' argument, is that nobody will bother battling the Nomads if there's no reward.

Perhaps making the Nomads harder to kill is the a nice middle ground that satisfies all parties? At the end of the day, it's Chips mod, so he can do what he wants with it.

There are a lot of people that won't play Evolutions because the Fighter cargo holds have shrunk, and there are a lot of people that won't play Evolutions because it is too hard. Basically, there are a lot of people that won't play Evolutions period, and they all have their excuses. Nomad weapons using energy is another of those excuses I guess.

I think you are going to find that you will want to be killing Nomads in 1.28, but I'm not saying why.

The Dazzla Lv.38 server seems to have gone down, pending the release of 1.28.
Does this mean 1.28 is coming out very soon?

You could always play Hal's server or Term0shad's server too. From what I understand, Hal's has been nearly full of late.
