yes i am still working on this one. CUrrently i am working on adding in a LUA Script editor (WIth Syntax highlighting and such) .

Progress has been slow lately because of some Real Life stuff that i have to attend most my attention too.

But rest assured it is still in progress.

ok FINALLY AN UPDATE, hehe.

THis screenshot shows the development progress of the Freelancer THN/LUA Script Edit. It shows syntax hilighting on the M01a_01 mission file.

This will have full LUA 5.X syntax support as well as tons of Freelancer script file specific entities/keywords. I am still looking threw some of the other THN script files to see if there is any more keywords that are in there that i may have not seen yet.

Another Update after another long while. This update is shows the new model viewer. Previously i was creating a basic spin animation in Lightwave and then converting to AVI, then to SWF. A bit of a pain in the arse. So what i have done here is intigrated a 3d graphics rendering engine into the program. This has many possibilities beyond just being able to view (in full 3d) MS3d, 3DS, and MD2 models but for now that is how i am using it. In the future i will be using the engine for further developing IMDE, but not yet. Anyway, here is a screenshot of the model viewer window, within this window you can rotate the model on all 3 axis (x,y,z) , and zoom in and out.

Well since it's been almost a year since you started do you think you'll ever release a beta?

well, you are right about the timeframe, however real life has thrown me some tough curves this last year. I went from being on top of the world to losing absolutley everything. And that is why it has taken me so long. however i do plan on a beta real soon.

Now that i got the model viewer working (although it does still have a few glitches) i am going back to work on the script wizards again. got 4 wizards that will be included with the initial release, Weapons, ships, equipment, and commodites.

Future plans, now that i have a method to do it, include the possibility of a full blown 3d system editor. But this is just an idea right now.

Thankfully, being new to the game and its modding scene, I haven't got the same pent-up excitement about this that most of the others probably do. Perhaps that makes it easier for me to say take your time. Which is what I'm saying. I'd rather have it done right than done quick.

That said, however, it does look and sound very promising, and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing more news about this project in the future (and, of course, the end product!). Definitely something I'll be keeping my eye on.

On a side note, I'm sorry to hear things have been rough for you. I know how that feels, as doubtless most (if not all) of the folks here do. It's good that you've got at least one thing you can put your mind to. I hope things start looking better for you soon.

Hobbes if you are interested, if you need some help finding bugs in the program I wouldn't might testing it if it is ready for it.
