5.lastly open ur weapon_good.ini and set the price to minimum for :

co_train_turret01_mark03

(just to get the feel with different guns)

U can dock to planets,not to stations....

if u try to change the string can_use_berths in can_use_med_moors and try to dock in a station with moors u will dock with the moor but u cant access to station;moreover u cant dock to planets if u put can_use_med_moors and the docking ring voice will tell u ur ship is to big too dock....
what does that mean?someone who programmed the game thought that someone else would change these settings and tried to block or in the first time the big ships were planned to be used by players and then cut off???hm i dont know.... what do u guys think???

First of all, thanks for the nice tutorial. Starting to get the hang of modding myself, though I'm not quite there yet.

Second, this reply is rather late... so sue me.

Third... it doesn't work. When I pay a visit to the shipdealer, all three "floatspots" are empty... and when I talk to the guy, the menu appears briefly and then IMMEDIATELY disappears again. Can you or anyone else help me out here?

Never mind, problem solved. You need to remove one of the following lines (each represents one of the three default ships available for purchase at Manhattan):

i've got another prob: i can dismount the turrets, but cannot remount them. also, they dont use energy while fireing and i cannot buy any type of them. and third, there should be a limitation to the nanobots and the shield bats ( im fliying around with over 25k of each....)

for nanobots u have to add to shiparch.ini
nanobot_limit = 100
shield_battery_limit = 100

if u go to goods.ini u will see that i added the turrets without putting hitpoints,but u probably didnt even look at it....

if u know how to mod its easy...if u dont know how to mod tell me what u'll like to have on large train and when i have some time i'll make it!

ok guys...ill do some changes later cause i have some work to do...
this is what i'll make :
ill add a level 10 shield u can buy;
weapons that u can mount and unmount;
fix some stuff so it becomes the final mod with no need to fix anything else;
fix the mooring problem

Expanding on your idea a little .. i took it upon myslef to make both the Large train and the small train available for purchase at Norfolk Ship Yard in LIberty
this is great because manhattan can stay as it should be.. and im utilising a station that doesnt normally sell ships... it looks a little cluttered with the osiris and the two trains and sure the shipdealer is standing inside the bow of one of the ships.. but no crashes it works like a charm

maybe im just stupid, but i looked at the repository, and did not find the mod manager mod for the large train at the repository

soulforge, i took your mod and made it compatible with my mod manager. (all i did was create a file called large_train.flm and inside the file is one line that says "modname=large_train"

I put the .zip up on my site to help. So if you guys want it, you can download it here

If you want to install the mod using the mod manager FLEDmm then you can download that there as well. Just unzip soulforge's mod into your <<freelancer>> directory and run the mod manager.
