**UTILITY** FLStudio (was FLedit)

I've started playing around with a utility to modify FL settings. So far, it just decompresses INIs and creates backups. The idea though, is to incorporate editing tools for the different aspects of the game in the form of plug-in modules which do different things. For example, something based on a dll version of Dixie's IDs editor. The changes can then all be packaged up as a mod for FLMM.
What do people think about this project? Any suggestions?

* 19/5/2003 - backups now can be restored, and the plugin system has been added. The interface is nowhere near complete though.
* 24/5/2003 - the interface is now mainly finished. At the moment the program is just a glorified INI editor, but it does let you open a compressed ini, edit it and save it back (uncompressed) while creating a backup of the original file. The next stage of development is to add some higher-level tools to modify settings and cross-reference information between files.
* 4/7/2003 - a few changes have been made and an alpha release of BWS' Tree-based INI editor has been made.

Thanks, good idea. I was changing the program pretty regularly a few weeks ago, development has kind of dropped off in the last few weeks (exams). I think I've almost got the API stable, so I'll try to get a proper release together and submit it to the site.

Do you have the .NET framework installed?
Did it fail to install or just didn't work when you had installed it?

With regards to a proper release, I will try to get one done this week.

Why is that .NET framework in the install? Anybody got a similar program or a .zip file without that .NET junk? I don't want to be stuck with the Service pack 1.

Yeah, sorry about the .NET requirement.

There is a similar program around called FLEdit by Julian written in Java. I can't find it anywhere on the net anymore, but I have a copy. I'll send it to you if you want, and I'll try to get in touch with the guy who wrote it. It's about a meg.

okay... well send it to [email protected] and [email protected] if it is too big for one, the other will handle it... I am also around on MSN on the first hotmail address.

EDIT: I found it. Had to look under their uploads page.
