The New Forums ....

Kimk - <whine> bargib.. i don't like the new forums.. they are so cliched.. with the avatars and all..</whine>

is there a specific post to elaborate on my whine ?


Okay, I'm going to be unpopular after this, but do people really want the fourms upgraded ? As far as I know, there will be avatars , and so on in the new forums.

Anything I miss, Bargib ?

imho - which isn't that humble - the current forums are great - but if people have a problem with avatars, well just remember it's a choice. nobody makes you have an avatar, and if there are avatars, just don't allow changing avatars either at all or only once a month or so - to reduce traffic etc.

EDIT : but i am looking forward to the new forums!

i think the current forums are great but Eraser is working on some cool things for the new forums. so they wont be so cliche

Bargib and Co. have been working on the new code for months. Even if some theoretical people didn't want the forums upgraded, could those people really say "Thanks for all the hard works Bargib,
but we don't want it."? It would seem a little ungrateful to me. Personally, I am happy whether the forums are upgraded or not. The forums will be great either way.

An echo of Esq's post. I have seen the sneek peek, and the new one looks great. He, Bargib does a great job withthe site, along with the Mods who have the fun keeping up with all the forums.

Yes we need the forums upgraded, lok this thread and ill show u why

its not that the system isnt good, its just a little outdated, and needs a good tune-up to cope with the 40k+ users we have...
