Why don''t you upgrade?

Why don't ya ppl change the forums a little bit, eh? Like make it on phpBB, so you don't need to type your nick and pass every time you post a topic. Make an chat channel on irc, cuz there are thousands...millions of ppl there..sure the java chat is cool but not very polular..
Make a new design on the site..ya know..and maybe if ya want I can help?

That would be nice...but the bigger fish to fry is processor power. Send some donation through the PayPal button on the front page would help to upgrade the server machine . Any forum more advanced than this takes up too much resources. After the server is taken care of, then we can talk upgrade

This site was desgned from the code up by Gibby the owner. It ain't broken, why fix it?

You are missing the little checkmark that allows you to "remember your password" when you post. Slow down a little and look below the body of your post.

We do have a chat channel. It used to be much more popular but like all chat areas, you let everyone in and some people always ruin it for everyone. Then people just leave and the room is empty most of the time. There was a day when the chat area was hoppin' man. You're just seeing the tail end of the evolution.

Contact Gibby directly to offer up some assistance. He would be the one to make the final call anyway. He could answer many detailed questions that might arise from a conversation too.

Ya, you're right 'bout the chat but it doesn't open for me It has only a white box with a red checkmark on it.

...and for the donations. This forum has soooo many users and none of them is donating + if was a little older and had a cc and a paypal acc i was going to give you all the money i had

It has only a white box with a red checkmark on it.

That's because you don't have Java virtual Machine... And you're most probably a WinXP user, so it probably wont work even if you d/l it... Use the "Start Freelancer hat in your IRC program instead" (or something like that) link.

Careful what you wish... You just might get it.

It would be cool if TLR had several skins that you could choose on your profile. A space scape, a nebula, a comet, a battle, a ion colored skiin and so forth.

@Blaze, so we're all in agreement (based on all requests in this forum) Bargib should work harder on this site! Who expects him to have a life, we want him to make ours easier and better!

Any forum more advanced than this takes up too much resources.

Actually that is wrong. This is an asp forum and asp uses more resources than a comparable php solution. I know this because my site used to run on asp before we converted over.

It's all in the programming folks.

No its just a simple fact that asp is more resource intensive than php.

LD: I've made tests with phpBB and this forum - the php version KILLED the server when you made small things on it... Remember this is a quite busy site! And the database is >300 MB!

Our database is somewhere around 600mb and it runs great but we use vBulletin. I wouldn't recommend phpBB for a large site.
